The Importance of Harry Truman in the Cold War
Harry S. Truman was FDR's vice president throughout his 13 year run in office. The man who had the power to make the decision of if when and how the atomic bomb would be dropped was Harry S. Truman. It could well be argued that had this man not been in charge, the dropping of the atomic bomb might have been handled differently.
