The Effects of Inflammation on Cardiovascular Risk
In these trials they were on average 64 years old, around 70% of them were men. They then looked at individual patients high sensitivity CRP levels, their LDL levels and then compared them against subsequent cardiovascular events. The results showed that inflammation assessed byCRP was a stronger predictor for risk of future cardiovascular events and death than cholesterol assessed by LDL.
