The Doctrine of Divine Simplicity

If you want ultimately to make sense of divine simplicity and think about God's acts, you need something like the extrinsic model. The idea here is inspired by some things that St. Thomas Aquinas says when he's talking about creation. And in a number of places he says it will it consists in the effect with its relation of dependence on God. But it follows from that picture that since God's act of creating or bringing about the effect includes that effect with itsrelation of dependence, God is prior, but the act itself is not prior.
