How to Be a Good Storyteller

What gives a politician a talent for crafting compelling narratives? Because presumably it's not like it's smart or intelligence isn't sufficient. So then plenty of very smart politicians who've got miserably at this. Yeah. What gives one the ability to be good at crafting political narratives? Again, I feel like I almost have to answer this question the way I imagine Paul Keating answering it. And I think he would say, you've got to be a storyteller.
