The Importance of Symbolic Expressions

The idea of symbolic expressions was something that I started with in SMP. The key operation is to do transformations on symbolic expressions. Many of the things that we have today in mathematical morph language already existed in SMP, but their names were very short. That had the consequence that the code you wrote was hard to read after you'd written it.
