Introduction

Brooke Shedneck is an assistant professor of religious studies at Rhodes College. She researches contemporary Buddhism in Thailand and Southeast Asia, gender and religion and religious tourism. Today she speaks to Lions Roar associate editor Mehiri Tilakaratna about her last book living Taravada. The book demestifies the people, places and practices of a Buddhist tradition focused on Taravada Buddhism from ordinary laypeople to ordained monks.
