I've been in a similar state where the technology landscape changes so quickly. The moment you step out of it for a short period, the entire landscape changes and it's very difficult to catch on or learn the new technologies. We as engineers, the good thing is that if we have the basic skills right, we can pick up whatever change we can pick it up quickly. But we always need to be at the top of our game. I have an entire section later on how engineering managers function in the new world and how they can support their teams on upskilling.
