Is There a Truth Machine?
There is something deeply optimistic about the idea of there being a truth machine. And i think it points definitely to an existent betrayal that many of us have experienced as we've seen technological systems go from, you know, promises and utopian framings towards some pretty perverse outcomes for the human condition. I mean, it's coming from me seeing it be possible to use trust technology to solve problems that centralized information technology systems have been unabled to solve for 50 years. There are decades of people trying to figure out how to reliably message something without storing it in a place that an adversary can go get the cypher text.
