Eusebius and the Image of Christ

Gavin: Eusebius' alleged letter to the emperor's sister Constantia is very odd. He says if it was authentic, then it would represent one of the earliest Christian sources of opposition to holy images. Gavin: We'd also have to take what Eusebian says with a grain of salt because even though Eusebious says that have you ever heard of any such portraits of Christ in churches, well, we know from archaeological evidence that they were not uncommon.
