The Social Consciousness of Jesus
Luke generally has a stronger social agenda than Matthew where Jesus is concerned about the poor, the needy. Luke's Beatitude is blessed are you who are poor for yours is the kingdom of God. I actually doubt if the apostles of Jesus early on were preaching in Jerusalem. There probably was some kind of persecution. But I think the specific narratives of being thrown in jail in Jerusalem are probably not historical.
