Work and Reward Go Hand in Hand
The second part says he who guards his master will be honored. This is like an employee under the authority of another person. He's doing his job very well, and so he will be honored by the master. Do you see that? In the second half of the verse, it's assumed that the one guarding his master is doing a good job guarding his master.
