It's regrettably easy to be cynical about the possibility of change in a moment like this. But you would argue against cynicism? I would, for the simple reason that we can't afford to be cynical. The stake's ore way too high. Too many children have experienced these types of tragedies at their schools. So the notion that because it hasn't happened already means that it'll never happen is, to me, a form of sort of weary defeatism.
Vox’s Marin Cogan, who lived through a school shooting herself, explains why she hasn’t given up on a solution to our gun problem yet.
This episode was produced by Hady Mawajdeh and Victoria Chamberlin edited by Matt Collette, fact-checked by Laura Bullard, engineered by Efim Shapiro, and hosted by Sean Rameswaram.
