How Did You Come Up With the Idea of Detecting the Atmosphere of a Planet?
As more and more planets became discovered, there was a growing chance that one of the exoplanets would be aligned in its orbit. And so the method I worked on, I called it transit transmission spectra. It means when the planet goes in front of the star, some of the star light will shine through the atmosphere. By measuring the star by itself and by measuring the star when the planet's in front of it, we can actually tell what's in the atmosphere.
