The Waylon API for HDR

The Waylon compositor will be in charge of doing the various conversions to make sure that the colors tagged by the application look right on the display using the GPU. Apps that do not implement such tagging or do not name their color space would still look right because it would be assumed that they use sRGB which is the case for most applications. And so this would make sure that every app has the nice colors, the right colors and that high dynamic range is also supported fully by content that needs it. Now the Waylon protocol for this is under heavy development and it is not ready but during the recent HDR focused hackfest there were a few hacks implemented that already allow for some pseudo HDR content
