The Plurality of Psychoanalysis
Psychoanalytic theory is underwritten by the logic of ambivalence. The human mind not just contains contradictions, but in some ways operates along the path of contradictions. This idea that you can feel to more than one way about the same thing is a quintessentially psychoanalytic idea. And I tend to think of ambivalences being productive.
