Julian Lisa and Greg Craven set up an organisation called uphold and recognised to encourage constitutional conservatives to get involved in the issue of constitutional recognition. The Uluru Statement was a 300 word statement that could be designed by Australians in a national competition, then you put up three or four different models of it for people to vote on. We thought would be a really good way to tick the box of making a full-throated symbolic statement about our past and our present and our future without any of the constitutional downsides.
