I think we need to make it clear that putin willby will, be tried in the court of public opinion. I am, as a somepany who went to law school, quite aware of the practical complications of actual prosecutions. It may also be worth reminding that my own country, germany, has recently tried several syrian citizens on the basis of universal jurisdiction. The reality of sanctions is not only that they don't necessarily deter, but they're also really, really complicated and really, really messy.
