Thrasi Bullis played the largest part in the battle, and was the one most responsible for the victory. In a span of just a few months, the Peloponnesians had lost somewhere between 135 to 155 ships. If Alcibiades had been left to his own devices, he surely would have been driven off by the combined army of Mendaris and Farnabasas. Now their Persian money, north of their fort at Decalilla, had brought them a victory, and no other strategy seemed workable at the moment.
