The Importance of Grid-Forming Inverters

AEMC is under a bit of pressure this year to actually work out who is going to be providing system services. It's extremely clear to me personally, I'm zero doubt that the vast majority of system services can be provided by grid forming inverters like virtual synchronous machines in the high-tarchy technology. But basically, inverters with batteries, we're moving to an inverter grid. That's what it's going to be, whether it's wind farms, solar farms, there's nothing very spinning. We just have to have that as well as the actual power.
