What's the Role of a Socket Server?
The actual stack is actually two applicants. There's two libraries banded as an HTTP server and beneath that, there's a library that's called Thousand Island. The term of art for it is a socket server. And then on top of that bandit kind of sits there as an application and then runs the behavior ofHTTP ontop of that. So you can send and receive bytes on them. You can shut the connection down in either direction. They really only differ in how they're set up. It's pretty easy to get into the weeds here on this stuff. I'm going to try to do the simplest kind of high level overview I could think of.
