The Effects of Capitalism on Health
Under capitalism, there is no motivation. The capitalist can use nature as a free sink and don't have to pay anything. So under the change situation I described, production organizations would have to pay either the pollutant is being banned or if they're allowed to pollute, they have to pay for that privilege. And then they are motivated to seek out technical changes, technological changes, to reduce or eliminate that pollutant. That means you have a new kind of dynamic in the economy where there is going to be a tendency over time to make the production system more ecologically efficient.
