The Catholic Christian Vision of the Lord of the Rings

The Christian story is a supreme fairy story because it belongs not in the secondary world of make-believe, but in the primary world of man's history. From this perspective, then any fairy story that contains anything that is true and good could be considered a fundamentally Catholic work. Legend and history have met and fused Tolkien of search at the very end of this essay. The Evangelium has not abrogated legends, it has hallowed them, especially the happy ending.
