We just tend to notice and glum on to those data points that reaffirm us in our prejudices and prior judgments. There are over a hundred forms of cognitive bias that have been documented, right? Scientifically, experimentally. But there are all kinds of things that work shaping our beliefs in ways that we're not aware.
