Simplifying the Tax Code
I don't think that going and busting waitresses who don't report their cash tips down to the last penny should probably be our top tax priority. But also we shouldn't have a tax code that encourages and rewards petty corruption among, you know, low income people or high income people or anybody else. The VAT actually in a way does the same thing in the sense that it spreads the burden around through higher prices and other sort of things. I would probably have a consumption oriented tax for various reasons.
