Do You Have a Different Definition of Consciousness?
The way i like to think about it is that the feeling is a demand made upon the mind for work. The reason why we have consciousness at all is because it enables us to meet our needs in the outside world. Its driven by effect, and it contextuizes effect. And so the effects of the grounding value system raised to the level of cognition are my predicted, my course of action. If your prediction is turning out as expected, cognitively things are not going as expected,. In other words, you can ultimately be grounded in these affective feelings of goodness and badness.
