In the United States and most wealthy western nations like parts of Europe for whatever reason the cultural ideal is extreme slenderness for women. There are some parts of the world where a more voluptuous body is considered attractive for women because it looks like some or it's associated with reproduction. If you're living in a time of poverty or food scarcity having a full body is a sign of actually wealth that means that one can acquire those healthy foods that one needs to eat. In past areas scarcity and poverty was associated with obesity and today it's sorry with slenderness.
