Synthetic Biology

Synthetic biology can be used to make new factories for making insulin or other useful molecules. It could also help us grab carbon out of the atmosphere or the ocean to maybe help us with climate change and that kind of thing. And then as a window into biology itself, can you set the context for us in terms of the history or where the field itself has come from?
