A Black Woman on the Supreme Court of the United States
It has taken 232 years and 115 prior appointments for a black woman to be selected to serve on the supreme court of the united states. Judge catangi brown jackson was appointed by President Barack Obama in 2009. Jackson, a history maker and a barrier breaker, recited the poetic words of maya angelu during her swearing-in ceremony.
