The Mismatch Between Parliament and the Will of the People
Most MPs in 2016 had not voted for Brexit, had they? Most of them were remainers. So you had this mismatch between what I think Theresa May described as a very simple, clear instruction from the British people to leave the European Union. And how did that play out as time went on? Well, it wasn't an absolutely simple,clear instruction, was it? Even Article 50 and the process was never discussed until after the referendum had taken place. The only people who don't need a majority are the people who are happy to contemplate a no-dealBrexit because they just have to block things.
