Energy Retail Companies Into Public Ownership - Is That a Good Idea?
Energy providers will be able to generate a profit of about 63 pounds from october first. But the profits retail supplies make are actually capped alreadyat just under two % of the bill. So removing energy supplier profits isn't going to bring our bills down by much tall no, not really. Some on the right have highlighted green levies, which are a kind of tax added to our energy bills to subsidize government's green energy policies. They say these levies are part of the problem and axing them could be part of the solution.
