We don't choose what shows up, but we do have the ability to then say what we want to respond. Retiring and replacing processing actually causes us to be choosing our future thoughts. There's a buddhist concept called mudita: You choose what you dance with. And i know that when i'm jealous of somebody, i no longer get to learn from them. But now i've got three other options, verses goingoh, people suck. Or maybe even it's an invitation to gratitude. We've got to rewire those automatic thought patterns.
