German Prisoners in Zuxenhausen, Germany
The strict prisoner hierarchy in zuxenhausen meant that german prisoners had more freedom than other inmates. German prisoners were able to gather openly for communal singing evenings. One of the most important developments as far as the cultural life in the camp was concerned was the arrival in 19 39 of 12 hundred check students, many of whom were artists or musicians. Out of these check students sprang many ensambles including an eight voice acepillar jaz group called the sing sing boys and an accomplished string quotete.
