The imperial family remaining in eastern europe was not in the national interest of any of the allies. The british made logistical arrangements for the imperial family to be put on a british steamship. King george the fifth even wrote a personal letter inviting his cousins to come settle in england. But this whole dea was quickly short circuited when rumors leaked of the plan.
