What Are the Benefits of Site Classifications?
There are more Natufians at the end of the Younger Dryas than before. So we have to view their development of farming as not a response to like, you know, they're going to die out if they don't figure out how to farm. That's a much different kind of story to be telling on the basis of these different forms of evidence. But then also just in general, no site is a monolithic. No group is a monolith. Cultures are complicated things that encompass a very great deal of variation over space and time.
