Bloomberg published a report where it found nine search warrants for footage from Waymo self-driving cars and one search warrant that was sent to Cruz. Both companies blur license places and faces to protect bystanders privacy when the footage is requested. I think anybody who lives in a city should be thrilled with this provided there is a backstop, which is you need to get a warrant,. The warrant needs to be approved by a judge and the people who own the surveillance footage are purging it on some regular basis.
