The Death of Richard Ramirez

Richard Ramirez was sentenced to die in California's gas chamber for 13 murders. On August 14th of 1989, one of the trial's jurors failed to show up to the courtroom. Later that day, Phyllis Singletary, the missing juror, was found dead in her apartment. The nation's media went into a frenzy of speculation, reporting that the night stalker had the support of a vast network of murderous underground Satanists. Due to California's lengthy appeals process when it comes to executions, Ramirez would ultimately avoid the gas chamber, instead dying on June 7th 2012 from complications resulting from lymph node cancer.
