In 2002, a year after 9 11, I did a PBS special called Arab Americans Stand Up. The view invited me and my partner in comedy crime, Dean Obidala onto the show to talk about our appearance. They bumped me and they replaced me with a Muslim woman comic who had been on stage three times whose entire routine was stripping off a job and throwing it behind the couch. She did that. And I was never invited back again. It's not that they're afraid of the jobs. Like there is just a piece of fucking clothing. No, no, no. You know what you got to do.
