The Pessimistic Warning of 2014 Godzilla
I think there was also a pretty explicit like political message in the film that I think goes along with kind of that that pessimism that you're describing. There's this contending not just with the bombs that were dropped on Japan but this kind of continuing sort of like disregard by the United States for the well-being of the people in Japan as they continue to pursue bigger even bigger nuclear weapons and so it's in that context that this movie comes out.
