Is There a Way to Stop a Tantrum?

My daughter has tantrums, melt down daily that come out of nowhere and are so big and explosive that it often disrupts the entire day for the whole family. I've learned that there is no going back from this moment. There are no words, strategies, distractions or skills that can avoid what happens next. The fastest solution, which i never intend to use, but ends up happening when i lose my temper, is that i will scream at her to stop. My lost temper shifts her mood from angry to sad. And from her sadness, she cries, seeks comfort instead of trying to harm me. She also describes herself as a very capable girl who's taught herself songs on the piano
