Is There a Conflict Between Utilitarianism and Altruism?

I think there's sort of a conflict between or there's something that's being left out in thinking about effective altruism in such utilitarian terms. What we're motivated by is partialistic considerations. So I don't think it's deontology either, what worries me about deontology is how it ever makes decisions at the margin.
