Mining in the Deep Ocean

The idea that there's a much more diversity on land, and so we should avoid mining that verses the deep ocean tat is just not right. The human side of it, there is no doubt there's terrible human rights abuses on some terrestrial and mining operations. But you know, surely what we should be doing is trying to clean up those terrestrial operations, not necessarily start a completely new type of mining in the ocean. It is vastly expensive and very, very difficult to monitor what the impacts of that activity actually are going to be.
