A test is an honest opportunity to demonstrate faithfulness, a trap is a deception. Obedience to Yahweh, rebellion against the snake leads to redemption in the Bible's story. In Exodus, when the test re-prezes itself, these women, the Hebrew midwives, act as what Dr. Tim Mackey at the Bible project calls many anti-eaves. They're redeemed eve figures.
