Introduction
Roland Schwartz is a mechanical engineer who has held several R&D roles and is currently working at a company called Surfacing, a product design and development consultancy. He says he wanted to be the "dumbest guy in the room" when he was recruited for his first job as an engineer. His dad was a research chemist and a prolific inventor with 50-odd patents.
