The Importance of Hindi in a Joint Family

Migrants from India in between 1849 and 1919 went as bonded labor to the plantations in Trinidad because slavery was over. Africans could either set up their own communities in other parts more remote parts of the island there was no labor so Indians who were brought over among them my family. My grandmother great-grandfather all these older people were educated it studied Hindi so they've made it a point that they want to speak Hindi but didn't want me to learn it.
