Sagon installed his own daughter as a high priestess in the city of or. Her position was in honor of the me anian goddess of love, inana. Some of these hymns have survived on clay tablets and so they come to us as the first literature for which we can attribute a known author. This is a small section of a hymnal prayer written by enhedana and dedicated to inana.
