How Did Chinese People Express Their Mental Suffering

During the cultural revolution, basically we entered a desert of psychology and psychiatry. And during that period, because you asked me about this language to describe their pain, people just didn't have the language to describe emotional pain. So how did Chinese people express their mental suffering, psychological suffering? It was through what Klyman called very famously, somatization. We see that trend actually is still going on in China if you compare China with the West.
