Is Putin the Kind of Leader Who Goes Quietly Into the Night?

I think it's fairly clear that the administration does not want Ukraine to take back Crimea. The assumption is that the war can end under favorable or acceptable conditions if the Ukrainian stop at this line. And I think Kissinger and others have concerned it's quite hard to know what the end state is. If in fact Putin is driven back to the 2013 or the 1991 borders, it's pretty much game over for him. Is he the kind of leader who goes quietly into the night?
