The Bible's Unremitting Criticism of the World
There's no one that comes out alive from the Bible's unremitting critique of its heroes. David is an adulte, Abraham sells his sister down the river and Moses strikes the rock with a flourish that God condemns. So there's this unusual feature of the Bible that it is persistently and radically self-critical. And so I think people who've read the Bible seriously will be thinking whatever vision I've got of the world, I bet it needs correcting.
