Introduction
A new poll from the Wall Street Journal shows Americans are pulling back from values that once defined them. In 1998, 70% of people said that was a value that was very important to them. Today it's 38%. Religion went from 62% very important down to 39%. Having children went from 59% who said it was very importantDown to 30 today. Meanwhile, those who said money was avalue that wasvery important to them is up to 43%. And there are real differences between the age groups versus younger Americans.
