I would assume that writing maybe in the journal, a humor column is doubly, triply difficult. It's the journal, not known for a glorious stuff, which is also good for you. Cause you get to stand out. But unlike writing for the New York Times where there's a decent sense of who your audience might be,. I assume it's probably more diverse ideologically, maybe in terms of reception to different kinds of jokes.
